I am trying to build a garden bench, but have never done this before. The bench doesn't have to be pretty, but it DOES have to be strong. It should be strong enough so that when my 500lb brother sits on it, the bench DOESN'T BREAK.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what wood to use, and how thick the pieces should be (for the seat)? I would like the bench to be about 4 feet long, and fairly easy to assemble.
